Before You Arrive

Dear Patient,

Upon arrival at Arab Medical Center you can proceed to the information desk; Patient Relations Employees at the desk will be available during your stay to answer your questions, assist you and ensure your comfort. Your feedback is essential to improve your experience during your stay at AMC and to help us expand upon our services. Please do not hesitate to ask our staff to help you with your medical and/or hospitality needs.

Your Admission

Before your admission to the Arab Medical Center, please make sure you have the following documents:

  • Valid National ID, Passport or the Residency Permit card and for Delivery cases the Family Card or Marriage Certificate is a mandate.
  • Preadmission medical investigations
  • Physician order
  • A list of your current medications with the dose and time
  • For scheduled admission make sure to clear all the requirements through the Insurance Company before 24 hours of admission.


For safety reasons, jewelry, electronics, laptops, iPods and tablets should not be kept in your possession while in the hospital. Arab Medical Center is not responsible for any loss or damage to a patient’s valuables or personal effects that are not kept in the Safe Treasury at the Admission Office. We encourage you to keep your valuables at home or to ask one of your family members or trusted friends to take your valuables home. We accept keeping only the following items in the Safe Treasury:

  • Money; maximum 2000 JD’s
  • Jewelry: two earrings, two necklaces, two rings, two bracelets and one watch
  • Electronic devices: one mobile phone, one tablet and one iPod

Legal Guardian

In order to process hospital admission or perform any medical procedures, a patient or his legal guardian must sign legal documents such as Consents for Medical Procedures, Payment Guarantee and Patient’s Rights and Responsibilities.

  • A legal guardian is a person who has the legal authority (and the corresponding duty) to care for the personal and property interests of another person and who legally can make decisions on his/her behalf as defined in Jordanian legislation and laws.
  • For children and incompetent adults, all required forms including the informed consent will be explained and signed by their legal guardian or representative respectively

Visiting Hours

Your visitors are welcome per the following schedule:

  • Regular Visiting Hours are from 10:00 to 21:00.
  • ICU and CCU: from 11:00 to 12:00; 17:00 to 18:00; and 20:00 to 21:00.

Only one person at a time is allowed in ICU and CCU per patient and the visit is for 5 minutes.

Children under 12 years old are not allowed to visit patients unless special requests are arranged in advance.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is prohibited inside AMC premises.  A designated area outside the hospital at the parking deck is available.

Travelling Assistance

Additional to your admission or appointment scheduling, we will be glad to help you with travel arrangements and logistics prior to your arrival. Our International Patient Affairs Office can help with any arrangements including:

  • Hotel or lodging arrangements;
  • Ground transportation to and from the airport and hospital;
  • Interpreter arrangements.

Release of Information

All patients’ information is treated in a confidential manner and it will not be released to a third party unless he/she submits a written consent by the patient or by the patient’s legal guardian. The third party must provide one of the following identifications:

  • Jordanian ID card
  • Family ID card
  • Passport or the Residency card

How to obtain a Birth Notification Certificate

Make sure to scan and send the below required documents to or fax: (+962 – 6) 5921282:

  • For Jordanian Nationals: family ID card, national ID, and marriage certificate.
  • For non-Jordanian Nationals:  a valid passport (with valid entry visit).
    • A Release of Information Technician will review and complete the birth data, prepare Birth Notification Form and process it for approval.
    • You will be notified with a date and time to pick up your document once ready, according the below guidelines:
      • Only AMC new born will be given the notification of birth;
      • Notification of birth will not be provided without the required documents;
      • All data provided must be accurate and valid;
      • All online notifications of birth requests will be released after 13:00, and upon discharge for inpatients;
      • Only the father or his legal representatives or the mother of the baby are authorized to collect the birth notifications.

How to obtain a Medical Report, Sick Leave & Investigation Results 

  • Print and fill out the below form COMPLETELTY including the date, time, name of physician and the date of your visit;
  • Scan the completed request and send it to or fax: (+962 – 6) 5921282,
  • The request will be forwarded to the treating physician,

Reports Guidelines

  • It is not allowed to grant any medical report to a patient who was not treated or admitted at AMC or AMC clinics.
  • No medical reports will be granted with dates and times that do not coincide with the actual dates and times of the patients’ visits or the admissions to AMC or AMC clinics.
  • The Medical Report will be released to the patient within three working days from the date of request.
  • The Sick Leave, Investigation Results and Operative Reports will be released to the patient within 24 hours from the date of request.
  • Sick leaves are provided by the treating physician ONLY.
  • Sick leave will be only granted according to the date and time of the visit / admission.
  • No sick leave will be granted to non AMC patients.

Patient Rights and Responsibilities

  • Patient Rights
    1. Receive proper care regardless of his/her values, religion, and personal beliefs;
    2. Receive the information about his/her medical case and procedures that may be needed thereto.
    3. Choose his/her attending physician or consultant.
    4. Participate in decisions regarding his/her medical care and to provide consent before treatment is provided.
    5. Full consideration of privacy concerning his/her medical care program.
    6. Expect that all communications and records pertaining to his/her care will be treated as confidential.
    7. Refuse treatment even against the advice of his/her physician’s recommendation by signing on the designated form and to be informed of the medical consequences of his/her decision.
    8. Receive good care and be treated in a respectful manner that relieves pain during stages of treatment
    9. Be informed about the hospital estimated fees and costs of all procedures that he/she may need unless otherwise complications are involved.
    10. Know Arab Medical Center rules and polices related to his/her admission and discharge process, patient suggestions and complaints, and visiting hours.
  • Patient Responsibilities
    1. Provide, to the best of his/her knowledge, accurate and complete information about present complaints, past illnesses, and other matters related to his/her health.
    2. Report unexpected changes in his/her condition to the responsible practitioner.
    3. Make it known whether he/she clearly understands the contemplated course of action and what is expected from him/ her.
    4. Carry out instructions to help support your care.
    5. Follow the treatment plan recommended by the responsible practitioner.
    6. Keep appointments. When he/she is unable to do so for any reason he/she must notify the responsible practitioner.
    7. Be responsible for any complications arising from his/her refusal of treatment against medical advice.
    8. Be considerate of the rights of sharing your room or hospital units with other patients and AMC staff.
    9. Be respectful of AMC property and the property of others at AMC.
    10. Smoking inside the hospital’s units or rooms is completely prohibited.
    11. Following visiting hours according to hospital regulations and visiting hours.
    12. Fulfill your financial obligations to AMC and pay your hospital bills and fees, accordingly.
